Vastu shastra
is a very old science. Our ancestors used to follow it. In olden
days while building a house it was preferred that a river or a slope
in front and mountain at back. Water is considered to be a wealth
and mount as a support. They also used to see the proper direction
and all the elements are at their own places. But over a period
of time due to increase in very large population people started
building houses as and where the land is available without bothering
about the direction and elements. But suddenly in 1995/96 people
started realizing the importance of vastu-shatra. This can be due
to introduction of famous ancient Chinese science, Feng-shui in
India. Nowadays many renowned builders have started building their
houses/apartments as per vastu shastra, Feng shui has become so
popular that some people are reorganizing their furniture and changing
sleeping position every month to match with their flying stars.
This is exaggeration. It is sufficient if you follow only the basic
things but accurately.
There are many similarities between things in Feng-shui and
Indian vastu-shastra. But the mountain position in China
is totally different from India so Feng-shui should not be followed
blindly.
There are basic five elements, earth, metal, water, wood and
fire. All the elements have a specific direction. In our houses
if all the five elements are at their right places then positive
or productive cycle will start flowing. Otherwise destructive or
weakening cycle will take place resulting in quarrels, health problem
and financial loss.
In any vastu related science three things are very important, Main
entrance, sleeping position and gas stove. It is advisable to
seek an advice of vastu expert while purchasing a new house or for
corrections in existing house. One more important place in our
house is the centre of our house. This place is considered to be
a health place. It should be kept very clean, illuminated and without
any hurdles. Other important places are wealth corner, success &
fame corner, relation corner, study/education and creativity corners.
